Department of Networks

The Department of Networks is responsible for managing, developing, and maintaining the university's communication infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity across all departments and campuses.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the university’s integrated communication network by connecting all college and department networks to the university’s main network.

  2. Design, implement, and manage wired and wireless networks across all university locations.

  3. Connect all university sites via fiber optic cables in coordination with the Ministry of Communications, the Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA), and internet service providers.

  4. Monitor and manage wired and wireless network devices and infrastructure, addressing network-related issues as they arise.

  5. Provide internet services and offer technical consultations on communication technologies.

  6. Monitor, update, and maintain the network system to meet the university’s needs and align with the latest technological advancements.

  7. Ensure fast and reliable network connectivity across all university sites, guaranteeing effective system communication.

  8. Develop network infrastructure, including hardware and software, to build a modern and high-speed network with advanced specifications.

  9. Provide comprehensive wireless network services across the university, ensuring speed, quality, security, and full coverage.

  10. Coordinate with the Construction and Maintenance Department to implement cable, network, and fiber extensions, and oversee related civil works.

  11. Offer technical consultations regarding network infrastructure to various university departments and colleges.

  12. Conduct performance evaluations of the networks and communication systems and provide recommendations for improvements.

  13. Oversee the design, implementation, and management of new network projects at various university sites.

  14. Collaborate with other sections within the Center to execute assigned projects effectively.

  15. Conduct feasibility studies on the latest network technologies, providing detailed assessments to determine product effectiveness and relevance for the university.

  16. Develop project timelines to align with the Center’s general plan.

  17. Prepare the section’s annual operational plan, ensuring it aligns with the proposed budget and strategic plan, and oversee its implementation upon approval.

  18. Contribute to the preparation of tender documents for new projects, and evaluate technical proposals to select the most appropriate solutions.

 

This department plays a vital role in ensuring reliable, high-quality connectivity across all university locations, supporting both academic and administrative activities through continuous improvement and integration of advanced network technologies.
