Kuwait University Launches Its New Website: An Advanced Digital Experience Developed by the CIS

Under the patronage and presence of Acting President of Kuwait University, Prof. Osama Al-Saeed, Kuwait University, represented by the Office of the Vice President for Academic Support Services, launched its new official website on Monday, November 4, 2024, in the University Council Hall. The ceremony was attended by Acting Secretary-General of Kuwait University, Prof. Fayez Al-Dhafiri, Acting Vice President for Academic Support Services, Prof. Mohammed Al-Mulla, and several university leaders.

Prof. Osama Al-Saeed emphasized that the new website represents an advanced step in supporting the university’s digital efforts, serving as a primary interface and information portal that provides users with a modern, interactive, and user-friendly experience. Al-Saeed congratulated the team on achieving this milestone, which reflects the commitment to the highest quality standards and enhances the university’s regional and international standing.

Prof. Mohammed Al-Mulla, Acting Vice President for Academic Support Services, praised the role of the new website in enhancing communication and interaction within the university community, stressing that the new design aims to meet users’ needs and facilitate smooth access to electronic and administrative services. He added, "This step marks a digital achievement that supports communication and strengthens the academic and administrative ecosystem, reflecting the university's commitment to continuous improvement and sustainable enhancement of its services."

In this regard, the Director of the Center of Information Systems, Eng. Anwar Al-Mousawi, announced the launch of the new website based on Drupal technology, which represents a significant step toward delivering a unique and innovative digital experience. Al-Mousawi noted that this update comes in response to the recommendations of the Electronic Content Development Team, aiming to improve the university’s ranking and enhance its digital presence. Drupal was selected to ensure a high level of flexibility and professionalism.

System Development Supervisor in the Center of Information Systems, Eng. Najlaa Al-Shishtawi, emphasized that the new website aims to provide a smooth experience for the university community and visitors, simplifying access to university services and facilitating content management for non-specialists. Eng. Najlaa expressed her hope that this development will support the vision of Sabah Al-Salem University City’s transformation into a smart university city, further promoting the university’s success and progress.
