1. Manage, supervise, and maintain the following systems:

                                        A. Central Storage System

                                        B. Operating Systems Software

                                        C. Servers

                                        D. Central Backup System

                                        E. Virtual Server System

                                        F. Cloud Computing System

2.  Identify and evaluate the technical standards and strategies related to the systems and devices managed by the department.
3.  Install and configure operating systems software according to application requirements.
4. Develop and design the systems and devices under the department’s management to align with the university’s needs and the latest technologies.
5. Operate, monitor development, and maintain the university’s data centers.
6. Manage and update the systems and devices under the department’s responsibility.
7. Provide appropriate access permissions for users at the operating system level.
8. Collaborate with the Information Security Department to secure the systems managed by the department through the implementation of approved security policies.
9. Document operating systems software and provide technical advice for their use.
10. Design and manage the disaster recovery site and conduct regular tests to ensure its effectiveness.
11. Manage and test backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity.
12. Monitor all systems and devices under the department’s management and apply technical measures to enhance performance and resolve technical issues.
13. Plan for the future needs of the systems to accommodate the increasing number of users.
14. Collaborate with other departments within the center to implement projects assigned to the department.
15. Conduct feasibility studies on the latest available technologies, evaluating the effectiveness and necessity of products to serve the users at Kuwait University.
16. Develop timelines for executing the department’s projects according to the center’s general plan.
17. Prepare the department’s annual operational plan based on the proposed budget and the center’s strategic plan, ensuring its implementation upon approval.
18. Contribute to the preparation of tender documents for projects and evaluate technical proposals to select the most suitable option.
19. Operate, monitor, and develop the university’s data centers (Data Centers).
